Which States Are Open
Sweepstakes promotions are not licensed gambling, so access is decided operator by operator rather than by a single national rule.
The General Position
Not legal adviceMost states are open to the operators on this page. The exclusions are narrow but real, and they are not consistent: two operators can take opposite views of the same state.
Excluded almost everywhere
Washington and Idaho. Their promotional statutes are strict enough that operators in this market generally decline players from both.
Sometimes excluded
Michigan, Nevada, Montana and Connecticut turn up on some lists and not others, usually as a compliance choice rather than a legal requirement.
Age limits
Eighteen at most operators, twenty-one at a few, and twenty-one in particular states at others. It is checked against documents, so a wrong date at signup only delays a payout later.
Location beats address
Operators check where you actually are, not just what you typed. VPNs and out-of-state addresses breach the terms, and the point they usually surface is redemption, after the balance is built.
Two Lists
Keeping a payout validSafe
- Real name, address and state from the start
- Verification completed before playing
- One account per person per operator
- Reading the operator exclusion list first
Voids a redemption
- Playing through a VPN or proxy
- Registering from an address you do not live at
- A second account for a second welcome offer
- Sharing an account with anyone
